The Research I’ve made has fed into my work through the illustrative work, i wanted a character that was defiantly human passing much like Miyazaki's work. The best method for my research was using websites and getting inspired from Pinterest which is where i found most my images. Researching is enjoyable but i can also be tiring what I’ve found doing this research is that i needed to take frequent breaks and not to go so hard on myself if i couldn’t do all i wanted too.

the ideas that I’m interested in are the samurai in the sengoku period and the black power movement in the 70s. Whilst both are large parts of history i have created my own universe in which i have warped and combined history. There have been huge developments in character designs and the clothing. Originally I wanted the characters to be in an undeveloped period in their history but that changed quick as similar to earth there are hyper developed places and also underdeveloped communities.

One thing i dislike is I didn’t really develop the character Lola as she isn’t a huge part of the storyline like Roau. I did do a few sketches but I didn’t think their was a need to as she wouldn’t be seen anyway. One issue i had with these character designs was that because they were quite realistic and had a lot of detail, every time i drew a character they would look different. For a solution i tried simplifying the characters faces leaving their hair and clothes in detail.
