Reflection

Evaluation-

My research has fed into my work through character designs where i wanted the characters to look realistic but also like cartoons. Some research methods that have been useful and enjoyable would probably be watching shows and documentaries about studio Ghibli animations and samurai evolution. I think the best way i can research is visually as i have dyslexia. In my research I could’ve expanded on the samurai more and the training and hard work they went through to get where they were. The ideas I’m interested and want to explore are how relationships are seen between a samurai and royal family because thats where i was going with the two characters i created. My ideas have definitely developed from the look of the characters and their characteristics. The materials i used for this project were mainly pencil and paper occasionally using Procreate and i also experimented with water colour.

the breakthrough moments i went through were finding out the use of sound, i used garage band to play around with music and then screen recorded it to export it into the animatic.

Reflection-

One thing that went well was the character designs other than that there was a lot I could’ve improved afterwards for example the story board could’ve been more detailed and the sound design could’ve had more versatility. I do like the work i created, the story line was well thought out and the characters were well designed so I’m not unhappy. The feedback I’ve gotten back ultimately was similar to what i was thinking could improve. Something i would do differently would definitely be working more detailed and try not to rush taking my time with each step.
